Best Practice Solutions is seeking a Financial Aid Consultant with extensive expertise in Ellucian Banner to join our team on a part-time contract basis. You’ll work closely with college and university partners to help them navigate and optimize their Banner systems for financial aid processing, compliance, and student success.
What You’ll Do:
Serve as a subject matter expert on Ellucian Banner Financial Aid modules, helping campuses improve operational efficiency and compliance.
Support institutions in setup, troubleshooting, testing, and configuration of Banner workflows, rules, and processing logic.
Assist with packaging, R2T4, Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), federal/state reporting, and other key areas.
Collaborate with financial aid and IT staff to deliver training, process mapping, and documentation.
Offer expert insight on best practices and regulatory alignment within the Banner environment.
Adapt to a variety of institutional needs — from short-term projects to extended support.
Who You Are:
You’ve worked hands-on with Ellucian Banner in a financial aid setting — preferably in both operational and technical capacities.
You’re comfortable translating between functional needs and technical solutions.
You’ve got a solid grasp of federal Title IV aid regulations and how they play out in a Banner environment.
You work well independently, communicate clearly, and bring a consulting mindset to every engagement.
Nice to Have:
Experience with related systems or integrations (e.g., Slate, , Workday transitions)
Prior consulting experience or experience supporting multiple institutions
Experience with remote collaboration tools (Teams, Google Meet, Zoom, etc.)
